My sympathy to the Balk family. I lived on Escott Avenue for the first 16 years of my life. What a great street to raise a family on -- the neighbors were great! Especially the Balks. Mrs. Balk was always nice to us kids. I remember Marilyn somewhat even though I am older than she is. We lived at 1538 Escott and I still ride by that house whenever I can. I know how hard it is to lose your mother but you have wonderful memories of a wonderful lady. Keep those memories alive always. 18 great grandchildren -- WOW that's great. Again my sympathies to all.

My dear grandma,
I love you for all the times you told it like it was, never to hurt feelings but truely from your heart. I'll miss our telephone conversations several times a week that always ended in I Love You! I'll miss the creations of different dishes you would send home with Andres when he would cut the grass then call several times to see if everyone has tried it and how they liked it. I'll miss your sense of humor and your belly laugh that you would always cover your mouth when you did. I'll miss seeing my children hugging you and and your hugs back to them as if they were swallowed in your chest. I"ll miss you calling Andres, "Andre". I'll miss the famous jello, which no matter how much I try will not compare to yours. Thank you for all of my memories as those will never be forgotten. I love you and I miss you, goodbye for now "old Lady".

I remember the pecan sandies she would buy me and the butterscotch candy she would eat. I also loved it when she gave me hugs and kisses every time i saw her. I miss you grandma. You'll always be in my heart.
