It was two months ago that God told you to come home to Him! We miss you so much but know that you are at pease and no more pain. We will all be together again in God's house.

Bob was one unique individual! He always had the right answer with a great big smile. We were so blessed to have he and Bea visit us here in Oklahoma twice as they were passing through. I especially appreciated their support when we lost our son, Eric. The family reunion will not be the same, but I hope it continues for many years to come. Bob was always available to help our other son, Karl, when he was in a jam...ie: the door! Bob had a zest for life and made folks just plain feel good. He will be missed by us, but we will see him again where there is no pain, no cancer, and all the family will be reunited. It was a blessing to know Bob and we wish Bea the best as she continues on without him, as well as the rest of the immediate family.

Bob and Bea have been great friends to me and my parents since they moved to Portage. They were neighbors and friends who helped my family through the tragedy of my dad and uncle's auto accident that claimed their lives.
My mother and Bob worked together in the paper mill and rode back and forth to work and Bob often helped my mom after dad's death.
Although my family and I live far away, we try to visit when we return to Kalamazoo.
Bea and family have our deepest sympathy.

Bob Penning was a co-worker and friend of my Father, Howard, and a co-worker and friend of mine. Bob worked with my Dad in the paper mills. I worked with Bob in the Portage Public Schools. Bob had many duties in his time at PPS and he did them well and with great care. Bob and Bea also drove busses for PPS and I and my athletic teams always enjoyed the trips!
Bob and Bea helped me out in a tough situation many years ago on a Sunday during a Det. Red Wing hockey season. A group of High School athletes from our Varsity Club had tickets to a Wings game. Bob agreed to drive us to Det. in a church bus. Things went well until the bus broke down on the way back near Det. It is a good thing Bob was with us. The breakdown was to severe for Bob to fix so he did the next best thing--he called Bea. She made a few calls and drove a School bus down to Mowtown to pick us up and bring us home. The following week Bob, my Dad, Bob's son and I drove back down and towed the bus back to the church with a long U-haul truck--not an easy thing to do!
We would have never made it without Bob and Bea.
Bob always had a smile and good word whenever I saw him and I have missed seeing him after his retirement. Best wishes to Bea and the Kids, I know you are all very proud of Bob and so am I.
