Charles Beale Jr.

Mr. Charles Beale, Jr., age 82, of Belmont, MI, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008. He was born in 1926 in Lansing, MI the son of Charles and Mildred (Brackney) Beale. He is survived by his dearly beloved wife of 60 years, Virginia May; six children, Ellyn Marie Beale, Connie and Douglas Kuhnle, Peggy and Gary Vickery, Barbara and Wayne Sobie, Debra and Michael Couturier, and Charles F. and Abby Beale; Twenty-two wonderful grandchildren and fourteen dearly loved great-grandchildren. Mr. Beale served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He started his engineering career with General Motors at the Lansing Fisher Body Assembly plant and retired from the GM Alpine Trim plant as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer with 37 years of service. He served on the WMEAC board of directors and as a Plainfield Township Trustee. He developed and operated the Indian Hills ski, toboggan and archery sports area near Richmond Park. He enjoyed nature and the family get-togethers at their place near Twin Lakes. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place in the Rockford Cemetery at a later date. A memorial gathering of family, friends and neighbors will be held at the funeral home from 2 to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12th, 2008. A celebration of Charles's life will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
