Died Sunday, December 23, 2007 at her home. She was born in Harvey, IL on January 2, 1937 the daughter of George and Catherine (Szwet) Smith, and was a graduate of Harvey High School. She was married to Harold "Red" Ahrens on January 5, 1957 in Harvey, IL. Lori was the cook for the Three Rivers Middle School for over 20 years, retiring in 1998. She was a Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts fan, and enjoyed NASCAR events. She especially enjoyed observing nature behind her Fabius Township home and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, Sandy Spence, and her companion, Dale Hiatt; Two sons, Russ Ahrens, and his wife, Patty, and Michael Ahrens all of Three Rivers; Five grandchildren, Logan, Carson, Olivia, Collin, and Madison Ahrens; One sister, Laverne McCraken of Darien, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Norma Tylka and Carol Ciecierski. Cremation has been conducted. A private family service will be held later.
