Georgia S. Adams

Passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Upjohn Community Care Center. Georgia was born on October 16, 1913 in Kalamazoo, to the late John R. and Elsie D. (Wuerth) Spoor. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. Georgia was employed by The Upjohn Company for 34.5 years, retiring in 1977. She was a lifetime member of the Corinthian Chapter #123 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Red Cross. She enjoyed working in her yard, playing golf, traveling and many other activities. On February 6, 1950, she married Koert J. Adams, who passed away March 2, 1971. Also preceding her in death was her sister and brother-in-law, Jennette G. (Glenn) Milne. Survivors include her niece and husband, Georgia (Howard) Potrude of Portage; nephew and wife, Robert (Becky) Milne of Vicksburg; two step-children, Beverly (Fred) Kandler of Kalamazoo, and John A. Adams of New Hampshire; two step-grandchildren, Diana (Frank) Guarisco of Richland, and John Kandler of Kalamazoo. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Henrietta (Dottie) Adams of Texas Township. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday (tomorrow) at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with Reverend Dan Minor, officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-5 PM on Thursday (today) and Friday (tomorrow) from 1:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home.
