Albert "Jay" Ainsworth, 85, of Battle Creek passed away Monday, August 27, 2007 at Battle Creek Health System.
He was born July 21, 1922 in Battle Creek the son of Albert Ainsworth and Mable (Walker) Barlond. He graduated from Bellevue Public Schools. Jay married Ellen Blankenburg on May 28, 1948 in Battle Creek and she preceded him in death on April 1, 2001.
Jay worked for Inter Bake Foods for 47 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting and fishing. Jay liked to watch the animals in his backyard, watching car races and he also enjoyed going up to Northern Michigan.
He is survived by his son, Dan (Bev) Ainsworth of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Dawn, Lynn, John, Curt, Dena, Bill Jr.; and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bill Ainsworth; and a granddaughter, Catie Ainsworth-Jenkins.
Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m. at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor James D.
