Robert Achterhof

OBITUARY:

Robert "Bob" Achterhof, 71, of Holland, died Friday, June 29, 2007, at Hospice House of Holland. Bob was born July 26, 1935 in Volga, S.D., to Elton and Alvina Achterhof. He graduated Holland Christian High School and entered the U.S. Navy and served for two years during the Korean conflict. Bob worked for Parkway Electric for 30 years. He retired from Haworth after 13 years of service in 1997. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bonnie; Son: Rusty Achterhof of Holland; Daughter: Robin and Dave Veltema of Zeeland; Grandchildren: Heather and Hunter Veltema; Brothers: Jim and Carol Achterhof, Al and Judy Achterhof, Paul and Marge Achterhof, John and Barb Achterhof, Bill Achterhof, all of Holland; Sisters: Lois and Paul Hendricksen of Jenison, Ruth and Dave Miedema of Zeeland, Myra and Randy Reimink of Hamilton, Brother-in-law: Vern and Shirley Van Klompenberg of Zeeland; Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2007 at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 918 Central Ave., Holland. Officiating will be Scott De Vries and Jeff Elzinga. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday at Notier-Ver Lee-Langeland Funeral Chapel, 315 E. 16th St., Holland. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
