Irene Adamson

Irene M. Adamson, aged 76, of Irons, Michigan, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2007 at her residence. She was born September 13, 1930, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Rev. Clarence and Sylvia (Fry) Motter. Irene was valedictorian of the Wilbur Wright High School Class of 1948 in Dayton, Ohio. While in high school, she had earned numerous awards for her writing. Irene was an excellent vocalist having studied vocal music under Dr. East at the University of Toledo. Irene was a former member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Toledo where she was a soloist, choir member and organist. Irene was an instrumental charter member of Faith Fellowship Church in Irons where she served as church clerk. On March 21, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio, Irene married Donald E. Adamson, who survives her. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Rev. Robert Lemon of Herndon, Virginia; her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Steven and Luverne Adamson of Vestaburg, Michigan; six grandchildren, Paul (Kiel) Lemon, Amy Lemon, Jeremy Lemon, Jeremy (Bambi) Skalland, Jordan Skalland and Katrina Skalland; her sister, Velma White of Clinton Township, Michigan; her sister-in-law, Clara Motter of Rhode Island; and several nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Rev. Walter Eugene Motter; her brother-in-law, James White; and her grandson, Joshua Skalland. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Faith Fellowship Church in Irons, with Pastor Russ Osbeck officiating. Interment will be in the Bass Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Fellowship Church or to Mercy Hospice.
