Obituary
Norman Lee Aker, age 76, of Venice, died on March 3, 2007. He was born in Hillsdale, MI on April 28, 1930, and came to Venice in 1992 from Fair Lake, MI.
Mr. Aker received a B.S. from Hillsdale College and a Master's Degree from Michigan State University.
He lived in Battle Creek, MI for many years, working as a food chemist for the Kellogg Company, and was a member of their 25 year club.
He was a member emeritus of the Institute of Food Technologists, and served as a Sarasota County Election Official for several years.
Surviving family members include his wife of 52 years, Janet, of Venice; son David of Venice; daughters Deborah Thom of Lake Orion, MI, and Diana S. Siakotos of San Diego, CA; brother Kenneth of Hillsdale, MI; and 5 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 8th, at 2:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran, 790 S. Tamiami Tr., Venice, FL 34285.
