My brother, Ryan, and I have gone to our grandpa and grandma's (Gary and Shirley) boat every summer since we can remember. I think I was about 4 and Ryan was about 2 when we started going. We are now 15 and 13 and still make the trip several times a summer. Everytime we went to Ludington, we also went to see grandpa Harold. We loved to explore his old house. There were so many "secret" doors. We had the wildest imagination! The older we got, the bigger the stories. Right before the house was sold, we visited again and remembered all the fun we had. The last time we went to see him at the nursing home, we talked about how cool that house was. Thanks for the memories, we'll never forget them.

I did not have the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hansen until recently while visiting my own grandpa at Ludington Woods. He was such a pleasure to visit with, sharing his stories about the dairy and his life. A pleasant, gentle, encouraging man.

There were many times in my early childhood that we would visit the farm. First time I realized milk came from a cow. First time I ever tried to milk a cow.
The last time I saw Harold was about three years ago or so and he commented that he just had his drivers license renewed. I admired him for his stature and the his impecable way that he dressed. Went to lunch the last time I was in Ludington with him and sister Elna. What a great pair they were. Lots of funny stories! Sure will miss him..Harold and his family will be in my daily prayers. May God's perteputal light shine upon him. Blessings. L.R.
