John Sich

John Sich, III, age 67, of Vicksburg, MI died Sunday morning March 1, 2015 at Borgess Medical Center. John was born November 19, 1947 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of John Jr. and Angela Sich. John moved to Vicksburg in 1987, taking a job with the Department of Defense. Since that time, John moved on to other engineering positions in the Kalamazoo area. His greatest passions in life, however, were not defined by his work, but rather by his family and his airplane. As a private pilot he found real friendship and fulfillment in his involvement with fellow pilots of the Quiet Birdmen organization and real peace when he was flying above the world. John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; son, Jeffrey Sich of Oklahoma City, OK; son and daughter in-law, Jason and Erin Sich of Grand Rapids, MI; and two grandsons, Noah and Aiden Sich also of Grand Rapids. The family will hold a memorial service today (Thursday) at 4:00 PM at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 1724 Whites Road, Kalamazoo, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
