BURNS, Mrs. Marilyn J. 2/1/1931 - 2/26/2015 Kalamazoo, MI Died Thursday morning February 26, 2015. Marilyn was born February 1, 1931 in Battle Creek, Michigan a daughter of Glen and Iona (Gross) Cease. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1983, coming from Buchanan, MI. Marilyn was employed with Michigan Bell for over 30 years before retiring. Upon her retirement, she joined her husband in helping with the daily operations until she finally retired. Marilyn was also a member of the Community of Christ Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frederick W. Burns on December 28, 1993; a brother, Richard Cease; and a sister, Gayla McEldere. Marilyn is survived by two children, Michael (Penny) Burns of Kalamazoo and Michelle (John) Hosinski of South Bend, IN; five grandchildren, Shayna and Tana Burns, and Jordan, Andrea, and Aaron Zaderej; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Gordon (Dee) Cease of Midland, OH; a sister, Carol Cease Campbell of Lexington, MI; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial services were held at the Community of Christ Church, 2523 Amherst Ave. Private burial will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest North Cemetery at a later date.
