Minerva Vela

Minerva Vela, age 65, of Holland died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at her home.

Minerva thought about everyone else before herself. She was very involved with her family. She enjoyed cook outs and simply caring for and dearly loving them, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Minerva liked to sew, play scrabble, watching the TV show The Walking Dead, puzzles, camping at Silver Lake and decorating the home. She was preceded in death by her father Daniel Hernandez and her sister Delma Flores.

She is survived by her husband Rodolfo of 46 years and children: Rudy and Veronica Vela, Raul and Sylvia Vela, Joseph Vela, Frank and Jen Vela; 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; mother: Francis Hernandez; 7 brothers and sisters; father and mother-in-law; brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, cousins.

A funeral service will be 12:00 pm, Monday, March 2, 2015 at Mulder Chapel 188 West 32nd Street in Holland. Reverend Jesse Valdez will be officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
