Ada “Toni” Christensen Naleid, age 91, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Wheaton Franciscan- All Saints Medical Center. Toni was born in Racine, October 14, 1923, daughter of the late Thornton and Margaret (Nee: Salmon) Smith.

Toni attended the University of Wisconsin Madison. On March 13, 1974 at St. Rose Catholic Church she was united in marriage to James A. Naleid who preceded her in death January 23, 2011. She was an avid Bridge Player, was a member of the Racine Junior League, and a member of the Republican Party. Toni enjoyed traveling and in her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren in her swimming pool. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Peter (Rose) Christensen, Ann (Michael) Flegel, and Lisa (Frederick) Ruder; her stepchildren, Chris McAuliffe, William (Maribeth) Naleid, Linda (Douglas) Klopp, James (Cynthia) Naleid, Jane (Ronald) Zwiefka, and Nancy (Mark) Petersen; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William (Yolanda) Naleid, Robert (Carol) Naleid; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Margaret Billings, brother, Martin Smith, and her first husband, Richard J. Christensen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 27, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Avenue, with Rev. Ronald J. Gramza officiating. Private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass. Memorials to Focus on Community, 1220 Mound Ave, Racine, WI 53404 or one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
