Elaine A. Foster, 79 of Maple City died, Tuesday, February 3, 2015. A memorial service will be held 3pm, Monday, February 9, 2015 at Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City. The family will greet friends starting at 1pm.

Elaine Ann Foster passed away Tuesday February 3rd at Orchard Creek Rehab Center of natural causes. She was born November 20th, 1935 to Edwin Albert Schmidt and Lillian Rose Beswick in Detroit, MI.

On March 19, 1957 she married James LeRoy Foster in Detroit and would have celebrated their 58th anniversary next month. She was a loving mother of six children, Cheryl Foster, Sharon Debruyne and her husband Kevin, Laurie Cooney and her husband Tim, Jim Bley and his wife Connie, Brenda Nimeth, and Martin Foster and his wife Ator. She also leaves behind 17 grand-children and 18 great grand-children. She also leaves her two beloved parakeets, Pretty Boy and Mollie.

Although she enjoyed and visited the casino, her true joy was being a home maker who loved to knit beautiful throws, arrange flowers and make designer jewelry.

She spent some years in Florida, but lived most of her life in Michigan, spending the last 12 years living in northern Michigan, in their home in Maple City. She loved northern Michigan for its peace and tranquility and we know that she has now found that peace in heaven, where she will be with her parents and loved ones for eternity.
