Virginia Carlson

Virginia J. Carlson, age 91, of Paw Paw, MI passed away Tuesday morning, January 27, 2015 at Bronson Commons in Mattawan. Virginia was born May 5, 1923 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Walter and Joan Zdzinicki. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw, where she sang in the choir, especially Polish songs, and a member of the Polish Women's Alliance, Paw Paw. She enjoyed people, cooking, playing bingo but most of all enjoyed her family and grandchildren. On May 8, 1944 in Chicago, IL Virginia was united in marriage to Richard L. Carlson who preceded her in death on May 5, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard R; grandson, Dylan; three brothers and 6 sisters. Surviving are 2 sons, Randall Carlson of Spring Lake, and David (Karen) Carlson of Hartford, MI; daughter, Kathleen Carlson of Lawton, MI; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Zdzinicki of Mattawan, sisters, Dee Burnal of Florida and Charlotte Mostert of Illinois; many nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Maryanne (Zyg) Gregory of Spring Lake. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw. Interment of Cremains in St. Mary's Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
