Robert Bloomfield

Robert Leroy "Rooster" Bloomfield, of Mattawan, MIpPassed away at his home on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the age of 77. Robert was born in Kalamazoo on April 15, 1937, the son of the late Thomas Bloomfield and Grace Sonday Bloomfield. He was employed as a Tile Mechanic, working for Central Tile and Terrazzo Company for over 30 years and then for Renda Tile Company, retiring after 10 years of service. He was an avid Detroit Lion's Fan and enjoyed golfing. He belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge, both in Kalamazoo. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Frances Weaver Bloomfield; two sons, Joseph (Michelle) Bloomfield and Jerry (Tina) Bloomfield; ten grandchildren, Mat, Austin, Kelsey, Donavon, Kaitlyn (Ira), Khristanna, Malissa, Tyler (Kirby) Brandon and Michelle; a daughter-in-law, JoAnne Bloomfield; three sisters and two brothers, Darlene Schroeder, Charles (Faith) Bloomfield, Mary Lou Phelps, Clara (Jerry) Snelling and Benjamin (Carolyn) Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his first born son, Randy Bloomfield; and five brothers and two sisters. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where the funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Rev. James Dyke will officiate. Private interment will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
