Clarence H. Williams, 86, formerly of Racine passed away unexpectedly at his home in Ocala on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. He was born in Racine, WI on December 29, 1928. He was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School and served in the Marines. He was a resident of Racine until his retirement when he moved to Florida.

In 1951 he was united in marriage to Dorothy L. Clark. They raised 2 children, Guy and Grachia. Clarence and Dorothy were married for 45 years until her passing in 1996. In 2005 he was united in marriage to Shirley Rathbone. They shared over 10 years of travel and happy retirement together.

Clarence worked in credit management, first at Modines and then for 10 years as credit manager of Carnes Corp. He loved theater and in his younger years he was an active supporter and actor with the Racine Theater Guild. Many of his lifelong friendships came from that time. He had a lifelong love of planes and flying. Later in life, he obtained his pilot’s license, achieving a dream. He was proud of his Irish heritage.

He is survived by his wife Shirley; a son, Guy (Karen) Williams of Verona; a daughter, Grachia (Paul) Solie of Barron; four grandchildren, Alysa (Jon) Bell, Dorothy Ann (Lorin) Divine, Peter Solie, and Laura Williams; four great- grandchildren, Parker Solie, Prescott Bell, Joshua Bell, and Clyde Divine. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bernadine (Harrington) Williams, first wife Dorothy, and brother Joseph Williams.

A Funeral Service will be held at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home on Saturday, January 31, 2015, 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery. For those who wish memorials may be made to St Catherine’s High School or the charity of your choice.
