Esther E. Gallo, age 88, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Elizabeth Residence. Esther was born in Racine, November 26, 1926, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Nee: Petz) Schaefer.
On June 5, 1951 she was united in marriage to Ralph R. Gallo who preceded her in death, February 11, 1999. Esther was employed as a beautician for many years. She was a loving and devoted mother who will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carol Gallo and Frederic Marks of MD; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elosie Karkow, David (Ramona) Gallo, Gerald (Patricia) Gallo; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015, 10:00 A.M. at Atonement Lutheran Church, 2915 Wright Avenue, with Rev. Denise Mbise officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Saturday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of service. Memorials to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
A special thank you to the caregivers at the Elizabeth Residence, Seasons Hospice, and to her nieces, Marie Seeger and Dr. Mary Karkow for their loving and compassionate care.
