Jerome “Spider” L. St. Amand, age 85, joined his daughter, Dawn Margaret Antrim, Tuesday, January 13, 2015, entering heaven together. Jerome was born in Paris Township, Kenosha, February 10, 1929, son of the late Hector and Elizabeth (Nee: Maurer) St. Amand.

During the Korean War Jerome proudly served in the United States Army. On June 25, 1955 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Margaret J. Wagner. He was employed by the City of Racine Park and Recreation Department and Racine Zoo for twenty-three years, retiring in 1990. In his younger years he was employed by the Wisconsin Electric Power Company. He belonged to the City of Racine “20 Year Club” and EAA. Jerome enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly sixty years, Margaret; his children, Rhonda Jobe, Mary Jo (Jim) Miller, Jerilyn St. Amand, Amy St. Amand, Tim St. Amand; his son-in-law, Gene Antrim; his grandchildren, Eric (Dawn) Antrim, Janice (Adam) Scheppler, Kristen Jobe, Don Jobe, Kaitlin Miller and Sarah Miller, Alexis St. Amand, Heather St. Amand ; 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jackie (Carl) Seyferth, Evie (Edward) Vallner; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, JoAnne St. Amand, Dick Kehl, Tom (Judy) Wagner, Pat (Bob) Schoenenberger, Roger Kuehl; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and daughter, Dawn, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob St. Amand; sister, Betty Kehl; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, George (Dorothy) Wagner, and Mary Kuehl.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015, 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Larrabee officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 10:30 A.M. Memorials to the Racine Zoological Society have been suggested.
