William L. Wakeman

Passed away at age 91 on January 10th, 2015 well loved by family and friends. Born in Wausau, WI, Bill lived briefly in Tulsa and Casper before his family settled in Green Bay. After service in the Navy (Atlantic and Pacific theaters) he graduated from MSOE. While a student he met his wife Lois, of 64 years. She survives him as do their four children Lynn (Jeff) Cole, Peter (Carol), David (Cindy) and Robert. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and his sister Mary (Hammond, IN).

Bill was a longtime airplane modeler and wooden toy maker. He was active in Scouting (Troop 21) and loved camping and canoeing passing on enjoyment of these pursuits to his family. Known for his sense of humor, strong work ethic and devotion to friends and family. Bill was a dedicated volunteer with the Salvation Army (24 years) assisting with the annual Toy for Tots campaign.

Friends may call at the Suminski / Weiss Funeral Home (1901 N. Farwell Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53202) on Thursday, January 15th from 6 to 9 pm. There will be a private interment. If desired, a contribution to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
