Robert G. Gerber, age 90, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Kenosha Estates. Robert was born in Racine, September 27, 1924, son of the late George and Bertha (Nee: Kanetzke) Gerber.

On June 14, 1952 at Atonement Lutheran Church he was united in marriage to Joyce M. Christensen. Robert was employed by Twin Disc for twenty-two years, retiring in 1986. A lifetime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Robert enjoyed volunteering for his church and Shoreland Lutheran High School for many years. Most of all he treasured time spent with his family, enjoyed reading, old movies, and sudoku puzzles. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-two years, Joyce; his daughters, Holly (James) Ritchey of Grayslake, IL, Julie (Kristopher) Koykkari, Ivy Gerber, all of Racine; six grandchildren, Brad (Joni) Ritchey, Jason Ritchey, Alexis (Pete) Matson, Aaron (Liz) Koykkari, Bianca Dieck, Miranda Dieck; his great-granddaughter, Teagan Koykkari; sister, Marjorie Matson of Racine; sister-in-law, Mary Gerber of Grand Island, FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Gerber; sister and brother-in-law, Marion and William Dygon; and brother-in-law, Edward Matson.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 22, 2014, 11:00 A.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 728 Villa Street, with Rev. Aaron J. Dolan officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to First Evangelical Lutheran Church have been suggested.
