Evelyn Wise

Evelyn Jean Wise age 89 of Holland passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Holland Community Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born Evelyn Jean Doornewerd in Chicago and moved to the Holland area as a child. She was a long time greeter at Meijer retiring in 2007. She was charter member of First Presbyterian Church and served as a former Deacon. She was also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Holland.

Evelyn was preceded in death by an infant son, John in 1944, husband Fred Wise Jr. in 1989, daughter, Luana Wise in 2010, grandson, Glenn Wise and granddaughter, Lisa Kennedy.

She is survived by her children; Melodie Johnson of Grand Rapids, Terrie Van Oss of Holland, Kristi and Greg Kiekintveld of Holland, Fred Wise lll of Holland, Kurt and Amy Wise of Holland, 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Geri Wise of Holland as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Sat. Dec. 20, 11:00AM at First Presbyterian Church,659 State St. in Holland, with Rev. Linda Knierman officiating.

Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
