Gatha Konkle

Gatha Louise Konkle, age 97, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away December 15, 2014 at Park Place Assisted Living in Kalamazoo under the loving care of her family and Great Lakes Caring Hospice. Gatha was born October 20, 1917 in Jackson, Michigan the daughter of Rollo W. and Harriet (Losey) Case. She graduated from high school in 1934 and was married to Harry M. Konkle on May 4, 1938. He preceded her in death in August 1, 2000. Also preceding her in death is her sister, Frances Laimon. Gatha is survived by daughter, Judith "Judy" (Jerald) Finnegan of Portage, grandson Peter C. (Heather) Finnegan, granddaughter, Margaret L. (Ian Boynton) Finnegan-Boynton, great-grandsons, Patrick and Nathan Finnegan, sister, Donna Jean Thorne and nieces and nephews. Gatha was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Her family will celebrate her life on Friday, December 19, 2014 beginning with visitation at 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 100 Luther Blvd., Albion with Pastor Dennis W. Matyas officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Albion Friday at 1 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Park Place Assisted Living, 4222 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49008 or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Albion.
