Virginia Bleeker, Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the age of 84. Virginia was born in Kalamazoo on May 19, 1930, the daughter of the late Alvertis G. and Sarah L. (Harris) Swayer. She retired from Allen Electrical Company and was a member of the Kalamazoo Covenant Church. She was a very loving and caring person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She loved her family and always remained in touch with them through phone conversations. She was a giving person and supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Dakota Indian Foundation. Virginia was married to William Bleeker Sr. on February 19, 1947; he preceded her in death on September 1, 2001. She is survived by three children, Garrett (Robin) Bleeker of Kalamazoo, Karen Wagner of Plainwell and William Bleeker Jr. of Kalamazoo; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and Uncle Gene Slager of Florida. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. 12 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 West Battle Creek St., Galesburg, MI 49053, where the funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Rev. James Dyke will officiate. Interment will take place in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
