Lois Brookens

BROOKENS (Jonkman) Lois J. Brookens, aged 79 of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Monday, November 24, 2014, at the Christian Rest Home, with her husband at her side. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Norris Brookens; her children, Mark (Nancy) Brookens, Tim (Marsha) Brookens, Kalynne (Paul Neucombe) Brookens, Teri Brookens, Curt (Margo) Brookens; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; her brothers, John (Carole) Jonkman and David (Shirley) Jonkman; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her two grandchildren, Brian Lett and Matthew Brookens. Lois was a loving and dedicated, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother sister and friend to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. A service to celebrate Lois’s life will be held on Saturday November 29 at 11:00 AM at Seventh Reformed Church Chapel, 950 Leonard St. NW. Relatives and friends may meet her family on Friday, November 28, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home - 851 Leonard St. NW. Burial in Rosedale Cemetery.
