Theodore “Ted” Kroes, age 94, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home, Union Grove. Ted was born in Wausaukee, WI, February 20, 1920, son of the late Henry and Everdina (Nee: Clausen) Kroes.

During World War II Ted proudly served in the United States Air Force. Ted was a longtime member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church and on November 12, 1949 at the church he was united in marriage to Mary Rose Vaculik. She preceded him in death on August 1, 2012. Ted enjoyed farming and had a dairy route for eight years with Progressive Dairy. He was last employed by Alloy Casting for twenty years, retiring in 1982. Ted was an avid woodworker known for building clocks, various other pieces of furniture, and also enjoyed whittling. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his children, Margaret (David) Voss of Union Grove, Joyce Kroes (Katherine Pentilla) of Waterford; daughter-in-law, Donna Kroes of Racine; his grandchildren, Richard (Amy) Klinkhammer, Tracy (Eric) Kipper, Tina Haag, Bryan (Kelly) Haag, Kimberly (Vinnie) Krezinski, Kristin (Geoff) LaCanne, Dakota Kroes; Michelle (Jason) Sutherland of Muskego, Nathan (Katherine) Voss of Oakfield Center, Jennifer (Art) Juszkiewicz of Rochester, Jeanine Pentilla of Portland, Oregon; his great-grandchildren, Trenton, Tyler, and Troy Kipper, Dominic and Alyssa LaCanne, Dodge and Kylie Krezinski, Cayden Krida, Lauren Haag, Madalynn, Brayden, Brynn, and Jonah Voss, Aviana Sutherland, Jane and Ean Juszkiewicz; two sisters, Georgia Repalian, Nettie Doyle; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his son, Dennis; daughter, Carol; brothers and sisters, John, Mary, Minnie, Dorothy, Sister Corona, William, George and Henry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 28, 2014, 11:00 A.M. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Avenue, with Rev. Kevin Mullins OSA officiating. Entombment with Full Military Honors will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home or to St. Rita’s Catholic Church have been suggested.
