Kenneth G. Underwood, of Bourbonnais passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at his home. He was born January 4, 1933, in Whittington, IL the son of Elmer and Virginia (Webb) Underwood. He married Jane Eva Beasley July 14, 1973 at the Westbrook Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. Underwood was a window washer and an ordained minister. He was a member of the Unity Free Will Baptist Church in Bradley, a veteran of the Army, member of the Evangelical Church Alliance and enjoyed writing poetry and was the author of Christian poetry books.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of Bourbonnais, son Shawn (Jennifer Lynn) Underwood of Momence and their children Shawn Michael and Jessica Erin; son Earl (Carol) Underwood of Huntsville, AL and Allen (Patricia) Underwood of Huntsville, AL; daughter Theresa Tiger of Bourbonnais and her children Jacob and Rebecca; sisters Wanda Gowski of Cedar Lake, Ind; Lucille (Bob) Kirkpatrick of St. Louis, IL and Paula (Joe) Hoover of Coal Fax, NC; brothers Bob (Linda) Underwood of Colorado and Don (Betty) Underwood of Grand Junction, Co.

Preceding him in death are his parents and a brother in law Ray Gowski.

A time for family and friends to meet will be held at the Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home, Monday November 24, 2014 from 9-11am with a funeral service at 11am. Burial will follow at Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. Memorials will be made to the family.
