Phyllis Mae Johnston

Phyllis Mae Johnston, 85, of Kankakee, IL passed away at Riverside Medical Center on November 18, 2014. She was born on December 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Anton and Freda (Balgeman) Dickman. Phyllis married Albert R. Johnston on June 15, 1957 in Herscher, IL.

Phyllis was a homemaker; member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kankakee and was a member of the Ladies Aid and Tabea in the church.

She is survived by one daughter and son in law: Amy L. (John) Buonassisi of Downers Grove, Il, two sons; James Johnston of Kankakee, IL and Jeff Johnston of Wheaton, IL and one brother and sister in law: Dennis and JoAnn Dickman of Herscher, IL.

A time of gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. up to time of the service at 11:00 a.m. all at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 348 E. Merchant St., Kankakee, IL with entombment at Mound Grove Cemetery, Kankakee, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials are for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Preceded her in death are one sister Lorraine Mueller and one brother Wayne Dickman.

Arrangements are by the Kankakee chapel of the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home.
