Donald Hamann

Donald G. Hamann, 70, of Kankakee passed away on Thursday October 30, 2014 at Riverside Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1944 in Kankakee, Illinois to Donald H. and Geraldine Hamann. Don married Peggy J. Gordon on October 22, 1966 at the Central Christian Church.

Donald had a passion for motorcycles and dearly loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife Peggy of Kankakee, his mother; Geraldine Hamann, his three daughters and sons in law; Shannon and David Kurtz of Bourbonnais, Stephanie and Tim McGrath Jr., Sarah and Bill Brown all of Kankakee. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Katie Kurtz and Molly Kurtz of Bourbonnais, Ethan, Connor, Graham and Liam McGrath of Kankakee, Olivia Jackson, Owen Jackson, Avery Jackson and Eleanor Brown. Donald is also survived by 2 sisters and brothers in law; Sharon and Warren Ouwenza, Cindy and Steve Jacobson, 2 brothers and sister in laws; Gordon and Helen Hamann, Randy and Jackie Hamann, brother in law; Lester Piper; and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his father Donald H. and a sister Debbie Hamann Piper.

A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Saturday,at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home.
