Buryl Howe

Howe, Mr. Buryl R. "Bud" Portage Buryl Robert "Bud" Howe, age 90, passed away on Friday morning, October 24, 2014 in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born September 27, 1924 in Lawton, MI the son of Clayton F. and Elizabeth F. (Gwilt) Howe. Bud served in the US Navy during WWII. He owned and operated Appliance Services for many years and worked in several jobs throughout his life. Bud had a lifelong love of flying, airplanes, photography, playing golf and visiting the Kalamazoo Air Zoo. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Mary Irons, Margaret Byas, Clayton "Sonny" Howe, Jr. and Mildred Pritchard. On April 5, 1963 Bud married the former Mary Louise Grauman, who survives. Also surviving are: six children, Terry R. (Sue) Mast of New York, Grace B. (Jerry) Baty of North Carolina, Valorie J. (Keith) Hipsher of Denver, CO, Pamela S. Bench of Hartford, MI, Michael Lee Corder and his companion, Sandy, of Mattawan and Kimberly S. (Dean) Olrich of Kalamazoo; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday from 3pm to 7pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue. Private interment in Ft. Custer National Cemetery will be held later. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the Alzheimer's Association .
