Dorothy Danko

Dorothy M. Danko, 92, of Bradley, passed away Monday, October 2o, 2014 at Bradley River North Health Care. She was born April 9, 1922 in Chicago, IL to Peter J. and Stella (Fraszczak) Duffy. Dorothy married Stanley J. Bywalec July 3, 1943 and he passed away November 13, 1999. She later married Andrew Danko, April 7, 1972 and he passed away August 25, 1997. Dorothy worked as a claims adjuster for a Retail Credit Company and has a certificate for activity aide for nursing homes at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. She has been a resident in Kankakee County since 2001 and is a member of St. Patrick’s Church, the Kankakee Emblem Club #414 of the Elks Club. Dorothy enjoyed ceramics, knitting and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter Judith and Lee Wood of Crete, IL. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, one son, John Bywalec and one brother Robert Duffy and two daughters; Kathleen Donohue and Mary Wind Pisarski

A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the Kankakee Chapel of Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church on Monday October 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL.
