Martin D. Buth III

Buth, Martin Martin D. Buth III, born on April 21, 1944, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2014 at Spectrum Health Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Marty was preceded in death by his loving mother George Ann Buth and is survived by his devoted father Martin D. Buth, faithful brother George (Nancy) Buth, nephew David Buth and niece Sarah (Carl) Johnson and their children Gavin and Fiona; and nieces Annalise and Amy Buth. Also surviving him is his aunt Anna Campau and several cousins. Marty grew up on the family dairy farm and graduated from Comstock Park High School. He attended the University of Michigan to study architecture and became a lifelong fan of Michigan athletics. Marty enjoyed going for drives in the countryside with his father for many years. He played a number of musical instruments and enjoyed painting. His family gives special thanks to his dedicated caregivers at Spectrum Health who enjoyed his uniqueness, especially his humor. He will be truly missed. We trust that he is now in his heavenly home freed from the challenges he faced on earth. Marty will be remembered at a service to be held on Tuesday, October 21, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation preceding at 1:30 at Grace Episcopal Church, 1815 Hall St, East Grand Rapids. Rev.
