Paul VanderVeen

Paul J. Vander Veen, Mattawan, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, October 14, 2014 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born on March 26, 1929 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late John and Alice (DenAdel) Vander Veen. Paul was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Michigan State University and remained an avid fan of MSU Football and Basketball. On July 20, 1957, he was married to Judith A. (Holland-Mortiz) Vander Veen, who survives. Also surviving are their 3 sons, John Vander Veen of Willowbrook, IL, William (Amy) Vander Veen of Naperville, IL and Andrew (Julie) Vander Veen of New York, NY; 2 grandchildren, Sydney and Allison; sister, June Drier of Three Oak and 2 nieces. A memorial services will be held at a later date. Private family interment was held in Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center.
