Mary Gorham

Mary D. "Donna" Gorham passed away October 14, 2014 at age 89. Donna was born June 3, 1925 in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of the late Daniel and Amelia (Rinderle) Courtney. She was united in marriage to Donald Walker in 1949, who preceded her in death in January of 1964. She later married Richard Gorham in August of 1964, who preceded her in death in August of 2005. She worked at Bronson Methodist Hospital for 22 years, retiring on July 1, 1990. After her retirement she continued to volunteer at the hospital for 20 years. She was a member of Northeastern Baptist Church, where she was the Class President of Sunday school. Among her hobbies, she enjoyed sewing and flower gardening. Donna is survived by three children, Gregory Walker of Appleton, WI, Rinde R. (John) Treptow of Kalamazoo and Glenn (Pat) Shaffer of Kentucky; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherralynn Walker; infant daughter, Rinderle E. Walker; daughter-in-law, Brenda Shaffer; nine siblings; two step-brothers and two step-sisters. Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway, Kalamazoo, MI 49048. A private graveside service will take place. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Northeastern Baptist Church, 6536 East G. Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49048. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or Northeastern Baptist Church.
