Homer (Bucky) Smith, Jr, 74, of St. Anne passed away at his home October 2, 2014. He was born the son of Homer T. (Buck) and Antoinette (Goselin) Smith in Aroma Park, July 2, 1940. On January 29, 1972 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bradley, Bucky married Eda Marie Olson.

He was a self employed farmer and a material handler for American Spring and Wire retiring in 2007. Homer graduated from Kankakee High School and was a member of the Aroma Park Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He was a livestock farmer showing at numerous state and national levels winning awards.

Bucky is survived by his children: Andrew (Joyce) Smith of Martinton, Anthony Smith (James Jewett) of St. Anne and Ann (Brandon) Bressner of St. Anne; four grandchildren: Ashten Smith, Keeley Smith, Hannah Smith and Keaton Smith; brothers: Arnold (Barbara) Smith of Danville and Robert (Carol) Smith of St. Anne; sister: Janet (Gene) Lesch of St. Anne; brother in law: Jerry (Judy) Olson of Bourbonnais and sister in law: Roberta Olson of Bourbonnais.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A time for family and friends to gather will be held at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes, Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 4pm-7pm and a funeral service at the Aroma Park Methodist Church, 11am, Monday, October 6, 2014.
