Dale Alexander

Dale Alexander, Richland, MI age 68, passed away doing one of the things he loved best on Saturday, September 27, 2014. He was born on January 4, 1946, the son of Dale Clayton Alexander and Ruth (Demersseman) Mercedes. Dale graduated from Robbinsdale High School in Robbinsdale, MN in 1964. He attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical Institute in Florida and had a long career in flying with his last 25 years spent at Kellogg Aviation, retiring in 2006. He was a recreational pilot until the day he died. He was a member of many pilot organizations. Dale is survived by his wife of 34 years, Michelle (Terkos) Alexander of Richland, MI; daughter, Marcy (Keith) Shafer; three sisters, Lynne Rayner, Barbara (Jeff) Sowden, Nancy Bye; brother, Robert (Jill) Bye; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Dale enjoyed flying above all else. He also loved golfing, biking, reading, skydiving, sailing, traveling all over and spending time with his family and friends. Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, beginning at 10:30 AM followed by a memorial service on Monday, October 6, 2014, at 11:30 AM with Father Brian Coleman officiating. Interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Air Zoo, 6151 Portage Rd, Portage, MI 49002. Arrangements by 269-788-9800.
