Eleanor “Ellie” M. Nolan (nee Gibbons), 85, was born to eternal life on September 26, 2014 in Pleasant Prairie, WI. She married Patrick Nolan on May 30, 1952 and Wenona, IL was Ellie’s home for many years.

Devoted and selfless mother to Nancy (Al) DiCastri and Nora (Chris) Bigley. Proud and encouraging Granny to Erin, Vincent, Danny and Jimmy; darling sister of Patsy (the late Joe) Durham, Tim (Mary Lee) Gibbons, Marian Gibbons O.P. and Gerrie (Tom) Ryan. Sister- in-law of Bob (Annmarie) Gruba, Margaret (John) Havlis and Celine (the late Raymond) Summer. She treasured her nieces, nephews and many dear friends, especially her best friend Nancy Healy. She was preceded in death by Patrick Nolan, her parents Earl and Margaret Gibbons, brother James Charles Gibbons and sisters Jiddy (the late Pat) Healy, Alice Gruba, Kate (the late Roger) Windorski, Andrea Nolan, Gerald Nolan.

Visitation will be from 4 pm -7pm October 2, 2014 at Hurst Funeral Home 405 S Oak Street, Wenona, IL.

Mass of Christian burial 10 am October 3, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 207 W. Third Street South Wenona, IL. Her nephew, Monsignor Timothy Nolan, will preside. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The family is grateful for the compassionate and attentive care provided to Ellie by the exemplary nurses, staff and volunteers at the Hospice Alliance House in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Special thanks to the Chaplain Charlie and JoAnn for their spiritual care, support and counsel. Heartfelt appreciation to Rob and Chris from LJH Ambulance, who administered empathetic care to our Mom.
