Howard Angel

Angel, Howard Sam Howard (Sam) Angel was born in Kalamazoo on July 14, 1924, the son of the late Byron and Martha (Charkowski) Angel. He served in the United States Navy from January of 1943 to December of 1945, on the USS Bradford DD545. Sam graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and was retired from the old Upjohn Co., after 30 years of service. Sam belonged to the Centre Street Church of God. He was united in marriage to Hilda (Sutfin) Angel on September 20, 1946, who preceded him in death in April of 2011. Sam is survived by his children, JoAnn (Ron) Wormbrand, Jackie (Tim) Diller and James H. Angel; two grandsons, Scott Wormbrand and Tom (Jen) Diller; four great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Sutfin; many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his brothers, Leroy, Alfred and Lawrence and a sister, Irene Tolmacs. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
