Obituary for Charles L. Coffel

Charles L. Coffel, 76, of Bourbonnais passed away at his home Sunday, September 14, 2014. He was born the son of Burl and Evelyn (Greene) Coffel in Sesser, Il March 1, 1938. He married Evelyn DeLonais November 14, 1959 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.

Mr. Coffel was a superintendent at the Ford Motor Company as a tool and die maker, retiring in 1991 after 43 ½ yrs of service. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from March 3, 1955- February 12, 1959 as a second class POZ. He enjoyed riding his Harley, traveling, he was a member of Maternity BVM Catholic Church and the Kankakee Masonic Lodge.

Charles is survived by his children: Cathy (Dave) Kmiec of Naperville, Brian (Lana) Coffel of Bourbonnais and Keith Coffel of Bourbonnais; grandchildren Rebecca (Eric) Franklin, Ryan Coffel, Lauren Coffel, Michael Kmiec, Carolyne Kmiec and a great granddaughter Ryleigh; Brother and sister in law Robert Coffel of Christopher, IL, sister in law Vicki (Roger) Beland of Bourbonnais and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, Brother James Coffel and sister in law Norma Coffel.

A time for family and friends to gather will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 4pm-8pm at the Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home with a funeral mass Thursday, September 18, 2014, 10am at Maternity BVM.
