Mildred "Millie" (Erhardt) Johnson of Kalamazoo Millie passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Millie was born to Christian and Edith (Hammel) Erhardt on September 5, 1921 in Cincinnati, OH. She Attended the University of Cincinnati majoring in mathematics with a minor in business. While at the University she pledged the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Upon graduation she obtained a position at the Veteran's Administration where she met her husband Sylvester "Si" Johnson. They were married on November 25, 1949. Soon afterwards Si's career brought them to the Kalamazoo area. Millie cared deeply for her family and was unconditional in her love for them, always offering a helping hand. She delighted in witnessing the growth and development of young people as evidenced by her years of serving on the Board of the Lakeside Home for Boys and Girls and her continued involvement with her sorority pledge classes. Additionally her lifelong passions were nature, cooking, and music. She is survived by her children, Susan Johnson Mulnix, her son, Si (Shirley) Johnson; grandchildren, Joshua D. Mulnix, Kaitlyn and Danielle Johnson; her siblings, John (Ruth) Erhardt, Alice Foley, Christine Kaufmann, Christian (Nancy) Erhardt; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Sylvester "Si"; her parents, Christian and Edith; and her sisters, Jane and Betty. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Nature Center or the

Alzheimer's Association
