John Rose

John passed away on Thursday, August 28 in Kalamazoo. John was born July 14, 1951 in Plainwell, MI the son of the late Harry and Gladys (Essar) Rose and lived in the Gobles area. He served his country in the United States Navy, and was employed by the Pfizer Company as a project manager for over 20 years. John loved spending time outdoors, snowmobiling, watching the Detroit Tigers, NASCAR and working in his yard. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. On January 11, 1991, he married Jami Van Wagner, who survives. He is also survived by his children, Alicia (Daniel) Carrasco-Silva of Kalamazoo and Tyler John Rose of Gobles; his mother-in-law, Jettie Mac Ritchie; his brothers- in-law and sisters-in-law, Jettie (David) Noyes, John (Theresa) Van Wagner, Jodi (Harry) Wesaw, Jeff (Mary) Van Wagner, David Mac Ritchie, Jody Mac Ritchie, and Scott (Maryanne) Mac Ritchie; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Rose and his sister, Patricia Rose. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with Pastor Gary Napp, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to West Michigan Cancer Center or Heartland Hospice.
