Corinne Marie Price passed away Wednesday morning, August 27, 2014. Corinne was born January 23, 1933 in Paw Paw, MI to Fred and Clara (Delong) Stearns. She graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1951. In 1952, she married Harold Price, who passed away in 2001. Corinne is survived by her three loving sons, Michael (Betsy) of Grand Rapids, Kelly (Valerie) of Paw Paw and Scott (Christine) of Portage; grandchildren, Gabriel, Jennifer, Jessica, Nicholas and Monica; brother, Jim (Sue) Stearns of Middleville; several nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Wanda Pulfer of South Bend. Corinne was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Paw Paw and an associate member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Bradenton, FL. She was a founding member and past President of the Paw Paw Art Association and a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America. Corinne became one of the first non-traditional full time students at Western Michigan University, entering as a Freshman in the fall of 1964. She was inducted into the Honors College, where she was awarded the Waldo-Sangren honorary Scholarship and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1967. Corinne taught Art and Social Studies at Portage North Middle School from 1967 until her retirement in 1993. She was an accomplished artist who loved to paint, write poetry and travel. She was an avid reader with sharp intellect and a quick wit. She was a Mother and Grandmother who wanted the best for her sons, their spouses and her grandchildren. Corinne wanted to be remembered for her love of her family and her hometown of Paw Paw, where she lived all of her life. Family will receive friends Saturday, 11 AM to 1 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw, where services will be held following visitation. with Pastor Lori Pollitz officiating. Interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Paw Paw. Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Paw Paw or The Paw Paw Alumni Corporation.
