Passed away August 23, 2014, at his home on Crooked Lake surrounded by his loving family. Glen was born November 21, 1925 in Battle Creek, MI, the son of Alba and Dorothy (Thompson) Weever. Glen lived a very interesting and diversified life. He attended Southwestern Junior High School and Battle Creek Central Schools. In his younger days, Glen and Margaret Roepke (mother of Orville Conine) reigned as marble champions of Battle Creek. He loved to roller skate and eventually he skated professionally with Wayne King and his orchestra putting on many charitable shows including raising war bonds during World War ll. He started working at the age of 14 helping his father in the family business. During his lifetime, he worked for several different companies including: Carl Behnke Trucking, Weston Biscuit, Battle Creek Box, Lake Fruit Market, Battle Creek Farm Bureau, Home Coal Company, Superintendent of Battle Creek Gravel, Weever Trucking, Superior Freight Lines and Tucker Freight Lines. Glen was a volunteer for Delton Kellogg Schools for over twenty years raising funds and overseeing many projects for the school district, which lead to his induction into the Delton Kellogg Hall of Fame. Glen served as President of the Delton Kellogg School Board for eight years and he was very proud of the accomplishments during his term. He owned many different types of motorcycles, cars and boats. He later started flying airplanes as a hobby and owned a Tri-Pacer, Cherokee 150 and then a Mooney airplane. On February 14th 1971, he married Dorothy (Jacob-Merda) who survives. He is also survived by four daughters and three sons, Carol Lynn Weever, Gregory (Chris) Weever of Avon, IN, Debbie Johnstone of Deltona, FL and Cynthia (Tim) Wasson of East Leroy, MI. Chester and Michael Merda of Delton and Sherrie (Norman) Jenney of Richland; ten grandchildren, Gregory Weever, James Weever, Sandi (Ken) Page, Jennifer, William and Brittany Weever and Ryan Wasson, Nicole, Jacob, Jared and Allison Merda; five great-grandchildren, Shiane (James) Patrick, Zachary Page and Ashley Weever, Ripley Wasson, and Paul Lair; and three great-great grandchildren. His parents and his brothers Lawrence and Floyd, preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a very special former step-son, David Smith. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Delton Kellogg Trades/Community College Scholarship Fund. Glen's family will receive friends Tuesday, 2:00 - 8:00 PM at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home, Delton. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church, Pastor Brian Bunch, officiating.
