Terry Jackson

Terry L. Jackson, 69, of Kalamazoo, passed away, surrounded by family and friends, on Tuesday morning, August 19th, at Clare Bridge of Portage. Terry was born March 17, 1945 to the late Jack J. and Anna (Myers) Jackson in Bryan, OH. At Bryan High School, he realized his love for baseball and pitching and received a baseball scholarship to attend Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI, where he resided thereafter. Terry also developed a passion for tennis and bike riding. He loved to travel and photograph the outdoors. He especially enjoyed special trips with his grandchildren. Terry was with the Kalamazoo City Police Dept. for nine years. In 2012, he retired from Pioneer State Mutual Insurance Co. with almost 34 years of service. He will be missed by his many friends and colleagues there. Surviving are his three sons, Kevin of Portage, MI, Steve of Three Rivers, MI, and Terry (TJ) of Navarre, FL; a sister, Bonnie Howey of Ft. Wayne, IN; and a brother, Richard of Thorneville, OH. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry L. Jackson. Terry had nine grandchildren, Courtney, Nick, Emily, Amanda, Haley, Rachel, Cody, Hannah, and Sierra; and two great-grandchildren, MaKenzie and MaKayla. There will be a celebration of his life on August 30 from 1-4 PM at 1813 Greenbriar Dr., Portage, MI 49024. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
