Teddy "Dzadziu" Pszczolkowski, passed away peacefully at home with family at his side on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Ted was born May 1, 1921 in Bayonne, NJ, the son of Walter and Estelle Pszczolkowski and has been a Portage resident since 1962. He served as a "Seabee" attached to the 1st Marine Division in Guadalcanal during WWII. Ted was one of the founding fathers and plant manager of IRDC. He was a charter member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Ted was known to have a good sense of humor and was one of the most wonderful and generous men around. The most important part of his life was caring for and spending time with his family. On February 8, 1948, he married his beloved Adele (Obojski) Pszczolkowski, who preceded him in death on November 30, 2011. Surviving are two children, Ray (Marcia) Pszczolkowski and Karen (Henry) Bennett; grandchildren, Nicole (Leo) Javier, Leon (Carrie) Bennett and Zosha Bennett; and great-grandchildren, Alexsa and Ariana Javier and Luke Bennett. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 21st (tonight) from 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Home, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. where a Rosary will be recited at 7 PM Thursday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (1150 W. Centre Ave.) with Rev. Father Stanley Witek, presiding. Immediately following Mass there will be a luncheon in Marion Hall. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials in Ted's memory may be directed to St. Augustine School.
