Harris Kortman

Harris Jay Kortman, age 80, of Holland passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at his home.

Harris was a member of Harderwyk Ministries. He was employed in the Holland Christian Schools for many years retiring in 1999. Harris worked with Kids Hope and was involved in bowling leagues at Northland Lanes for many years. He enjoyed traveling but loved being home and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his son David Kortman in 2013.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Joyce and children: Cal and Julie Kortman of Holland, Lafon Kortmanof Yale, MI, Renee and Jim Kolean of Holland, Mark and Sarah Kortman of Holland; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Harve Kortman of St. Petersburg, FL, John and Joan Kortman of Holland, Adele and Karl Ellerbroek of Holland;

many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Harderwyk Ministries 1627 W. Lakewood Blvd. in Holland.

Reverend John Burden will be officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeshore Cemetery in Park Township.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Dykstra Funeral Home – Northwood Chapel 295 Douglas Avenue in Holland.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland.
