Allen was a 1995 Lawton High School graduate, living in the Lawton area for most of his life before traveling to the great northwest; Portland, Oregon; Seattle, Washington; and Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Allen was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved boxing and had competed in Golden Glove events. He was a trumpet player and sang with the church praise team. He was a certified life guard and worked with the Lawton Quick Response Team. He was a member of Laborer’s Union Local 355, working construction for many years, before going back to college and earning his degree in welding from Portland Community College. Allen was a very soft hearted young man with an adventurous spirit. He will be greatly missed.

Allen Chai, age 37, died unexpectedly on August 15, 2014 in Seattle, WA. Allen was born February 23, 1977 in Kalamazoo, the son of Cathy (Anderson) Chai and Eung Chai, who survive. Also surviving are 4 siblings: Bryan Chai, Rebekah (David) Tobias, Chloe Chai and David Chai; nieces and nephews: Kylie, Arieana, Annabella, David John and Asiah; grandmother, Beryl Nord and aunts and uncles: Dane and Linda Anderson, Sue and Steve Barber and Elaine Purdy. Friends may spend time with family on Friday from 10:30 AM-11:00 AM at the Lawton Evangelical Mennonite Church, 425 South Nursery Street; Lawton, where services will begin at 11 AM that morning.
