John Garrison

John Paul "Jack" Garrison, 71of Traverse City and formerly of Flushing, died peacefully on August 5th, 2014 in his home. He was born in Freeport, New York on October 23, 1942 the son of late Willard Sterling and Margaret (Fitzgerald) Garrison.

He enjoyed spending his time skiing, playing tennis, golfing and assembling models of large boats. He retired from the Chevy Truck and Bus Plant in Flint. After retirement in 2000; he and his wife moved to Traverse City.

John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen K. Garrison; daughters, Suzanne Dunton of Lombard, IL and Judy Walls of Littleton, CO; grandsons, Kevin and Scott Walls; siblings, Joseph Garrison of Long Island, NY and Ann Simmonds of Elk Rapids.

Memorial Services will be held 11am, Monday, August 11, 2014 at Grace Episcopal Church; where the family will greet friends starting at 10am. The family's preference is to have Memorial Contributions to the Munson Healthcare Foundation; designated to the Cowell Family Cancer Center, 1150 Medical Campus Dr., Traverse City, Michigan 49684.
