Emma May Cook

COOK, ERMA Erma May Cook, age 73, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 31, 2014, with her family by her side. Erma was born July 29, 1941 in Lowell, MI to Charles Wheat and Medell Wheat. She graduated from Godwin High School and married her high school sweetheart, Wayne Cook on August 27, 1960. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed telling stories upon stories. She spent many hours sewing clothing and blankets for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the less fortunate. She was an active member of Antioch Fellowship in Hamilton, MI. Erma was preceded in death by her father, Charles, and her sister, Hazel Lee. She is survived by the love of her life, Wayne Cook; children, Andrew (Joyce) of Hamilton, Keith Cook of Grand Rapids, Melissa (Chris) Kalisch of Fountian, and Eric (Jessica) Cook of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Amanda (Dan) Kapenga, Andrew (Janelle) Cook, Angela (Matt) Kidwell, Keith Cook, April (Matt) Brott, Billy (Jamie) Barrington, Elizabeth Cook, Joshua Barrington, Jeremy Cook, Matthew Weber, Katelyn Weber, and Sarah Cook; 19 great-grandchildren; mother, Medell Wheat of Wyoming; sister and brother, Irene Evanzo, and Chuck Wheat; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12 PM at the Cook Memorial Chapel (east building) 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday from 5-8 PM at the Cook Funeral Home, 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, MI. Her family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcares.com.
